Description
Scarce original vintage lobby card from the 1950 rerelease of the 1936 serialFlash Gordon
(edited together as a feature titled
Rocket Ship
), color lithography on off-white stock, 11" x 14". Light handling wear (a few tiny marginal tears and creases; 1" tear to top edge with discreet cellophane tape repair; old paper tape remnants to reverse); faint dampstain at lower left with a few small spots of skinning; two ink lines to title; still very good overall, with strong colors.
The image depicts Flash Gordon (Buster Crabbe) holding Dale Arden (Jean Rogers) in a tense embrace. Originally a 13-episode serial released by Universal in 1936, this screen debut of the popular science fiction comic strip character was edited into a 72-minute feature in the same year and rereleased in 1950 by Filmcraft Productions, which issued the present lobby card. The original serial was added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 1996.
See my other auctons for another lobby card from the same film.
NON-U.S. BIDDERS:
Please note that I ship outside the U.S.
ONLY
via eBay's Global Shipping Program. Unfortunately, multiple purchases
cannot
be combined.
IMPORTANT NEW NOTE ON SHIPPING--PLEASE READ.
I'm not a fan of fine print and disclaimers, but a number recent developments have contributed to likely delays in shipping:
1) Recent changes at the USPS have resulted in longer shipping times, particularly to more distant destinations (i.e., the south, midwest, and west). Please take this into account. I generally ship using the least expensive class that's appropriate, but I will gladly make arrangements for expedited shipping upon request. If there are any issues with delays/tracking, please contact me immediately—I am happy to assist.
2) Most sellers are now required to enroll in eBay's Managed Payments program. As part of this program,
eBay holds every buyer's payment for two business days before releasing it to the seller.
This means that if you pay late on a Thursday night, your payment will not clear until at least Tuesday. If you pay on a Monday morning, your payment will not clear until at least Wednesday. Again, please take this into account.
In case of any issues or problems, please contact me before opening a request or dispute.
As my long feedback record makes clear, I strive to provide accuracy in descriptions, great care in packaging and shipping, and excellent customer service.
Contacting me directly first to resolve questions or issues greatly speeds up the process and ensures greatest satisfaction.
PAYMENT/SHIPPING:
Successful U.S. bidder pays for carefully packed First Class shipping. Please see my other auctions for rare and vintage books, historical and advertising ephemera, photos, artwork, and mid-century design.
