This listing is for a wonderful 19th Century American Black, Starr & Frost of New York Sterling Silver sugar tongs, c. 1890.
Unusual wide tongs with scalloped edge and pointed claw ends.
Measures 5 1/2" long and 7/8" wide. Weighs 50 grams.

arked "Black, Star & Frost" and "312". Tested to be Sterling Silver.
The Black, Starr & Frost Company was formed in 1874 and continued to use this name until 1929.  They produced silver products for many of America's most prominent families and their pieces are of the highest quality.
The tongs are in outstanding Estate condition with no noted damage or flaws.
