Forrest L. Guth was one of the original members of Easy Company. Forrest was featured in the book and series Band of Brothers. He was instrumental in the original interviews conducted by Stephen Ambrose.  One of Guth's greatest contributions was that he carried an unauthorized camera on D-Day resulting in some of the most iconic photos of Easy Company in Normandy including the photo taken at
Sainte-Marie-du-Mont that was used on the cover of the book Band of Brothers. Guth was wounded in Holland but came back for Bastogne.
Guth was well liked by the other men and was known as the unofficial armorer. He was known for grinding the sears on M-1 Garand rifles to make them fire fully automatically. He also rigged his uniform and equipment with extra pockets and other unique features. Guth won a "ticket home lottery"  after The Easy Company's time in Haguenau.
Guth was very active at Easy Company Reunions after the war and was an industrial arts teacher. Guth sadly passed away in 2009.
