Mercury Mark & Kiekhaefer WWII Military Small Engine.
I haven't seen an engine like this before. It bolts to the floor or some kind of frame. It has a pulley on either side of the engine with the spark plug being contained inside of a compartment. It has some kind of container within the body of the engine. This tank could be for water or gasoline. It is rope start, has a large muffler and a very large flywheel (photo to follow) on the opposite side with a shroud. I can't really give you a good description because it was made early in the war and for some special purpose. (last night a person suggested this motor was used in starting engines on airplane) I STRESS that I do know what this motor is used for, I haven't tried I to start but the engine is free. Uses magneto for ignition (included). I have not tried to the start the engine so you are buying it not running. Good condition.
