Starrett No. 657AA magnetic base with a Federal 1" dial indicator

Here is a Starrett No. 657AA magnetic base with a Federal 1" dial indicator that are in very good used condition. These tools have worked very well together. They have been used so you will find some minor cosmetic imperfections but nothing that will hinder their usefulness. One of these imperfections is that the original owner scribed MACH SHOP 3 - 10 -99 on the side of this base (see the last photo). It is harx to see. The 657AA magnetic base works perfectly. It "sticks" solidly to any flat steel surface. Everything slides around easily and locks down tight wherever you want it to. The magnet turns "on" and "off" easily with just a push of the button. The Federal 1" dial indicator moves easily without any hesitations. Smooth! It is missing the little clip that locks down the besel. You really do not need it as it is not move by itself. The snug that holds everything together is a GEM. The arm that the indicator is held with is not made by Starrett, I don't know the manufacturer. This tool set has a few flaws, please don't let this detract from what is otherwise a very nice set of tools.This set up has a vertical reach of 19" and a horizontal reach of approximately 10". This American made magnetic base and  indicator are both ready to go back to work immediately and would make a great addition to any precision tool box.
