Description
Van Briggle Pottery opened in Colorado Springs in 1901 & closed its doors in 2014. Many of their shapes & glaze colors were repeated throughout those years, so it is sometimes hard to tell when pieces were made. This Van Briggle Pottery figural statue of a seated lady is called DayDreamer. She is in a dress & feathered cape. Designed by Nellie Walker in the 1940s, Daydreamer was also made as a flower frog & as a lamp base. I believe this Daydreamer statue is later, probably ca. 1960-80s. The matte glaze is off-white, almost a grayish tan. She is 8-3/4 inches tall & 6 inches wide at the widest point. The mold has good detail & she is in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing. The back of the base is marked with a Van Briggle logo. Ships USPS.
