    Description

    Here is a beautiful, early
Van Briggle Pottery 1904 bi-color vase with an olive green brown matte glaze and a thick curdled greenish yellow within the design. Shape number 146, designed in 1903 by Artus Van Briggle, the Art Nouveau design is titled "Stylized Peacock Feathers". It measures 5 3/8 inches in diameter, 3 1/8 inches high.
Marks include the firm's double AA box mark, shape number 146, Roman numeral V for the clay, and the date 1904. A great glaze and form on an early, dated vase from the famous Colorado Springs art pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
