This listing is for an original, vintage World War II scrapbook.This scrapbook pertains to the experiences of PFC William P. Lorenz from Elkhart, Indiana.
He was a member of an anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) unit and served in the ETO.
The bulk of the contents relate to his stateside training prior to being shipped overseas.
He spent time at various bases to include Camp Edwards, Ft. Dix, Camp Pickett, Camp Davis and overseas.
The scrapbook is 12”x14.5, has an embossed cover design, 56pages with items attached, it has numerous loose items between the pages.
A few pages, not many, appear to be missing some items that have either become separated or previously removed.
Some of the pages are detached from the binding.
Overall, the scrapbook shows wear but is still in decent condition for its age.
Items in the scrapbook include orders with the names of all recruits going to get a physical, an 8”x10” photo of recruits that were leaving for a military physical exam, a military themed greeting card, soldier’s pay record, 100 postcards (military, cartoons, tourist), patches, military motor vehicle operator’s permit, quartermaster laundry slip, various military related booklets, used small arms target, letters, church service program (16 Jan 44),military passes, maps, military ribbons, Signal Corps projection operator’s permit, chemical warfare training aid, ETO ID card, various tourist related information, a Red Cross sight-seeing flyer for Paris and more.

Postcards
– 100 typical size postcards, many are military related but also included are a number with tourist type scenes, all are in near mint condition.
Some of the military postcards by base include: Camp Edwards (28 different scenes), Ft. Dix (20 different scenes), Camp Pickett/Blackstone AAB (8 different scenes) and military humor cartoons(19 different) and the remaining postcards are of various tourist type locations.
