Description

Sangaree is a 1953 3-D color period costume drama film by director Edward Ludwig. It was adapted from the 1948 novel of the same name by best-selling author Frank G. Slaughter.
The film stars Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl. It is set during the American Revolution and focuses on an indentured servant, Dr. Carlos Morales, who rises to power in the state of Georgia. It was Paramount's first 3-Dimensional film release.
On its 1-10 rating scale, IMDb gives the movie a 6.4 rating.
Fernando Lamas (January 9, 1915-October 8, 1982) was an Argentine-American actor and director, and the father of actor Lorenzo Lamas. In September 1949, he signed a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and went on to play "Latin Lover" roles.
Arlene Carol Dahl (born August 11, 1925) is a retired actress and former Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer star, who achieved notability during the 1950s.
Lamas and Dahl married after starring together in this and other movies. In 1958, Dahl and Lamas had their only child, Lorenzo Lamas. Shortly after giving birth to Lorenzo, Dahl slowed and eventually ended her career as an actress, although she still appeared in films and on television occasionally. Dahl and Lamas divorced in 1960. She is one of the last surviving stars from the Classical Hollywood cinema era.
